Der 1948 gegründete tschechische Hersteller Barum entstand aus der Fusion der drei Hersteller Bata, Rubena und Mitas. 1966 begann Barum mit dem Bau seiner Fabrik in Otrokovice, in der noch heute die Lösungen der Marke hergestellt werden. 1993 wurde Barum von dem Riesen Continental übernommen und profitierte von dessen technologischen Fortschritten und Ausrüstungen. Barum wuchs stark und produzierte 1999 mehr als 11 Millionen Autoreifen pro Jahr. Heute bietet die Marke eine Vielzahl von Reifen für Autos, SUVs und Nutzfahrzeuge, aber auch für LKWs und Industriemaschinen. Die Lösungen von Barum sind für ihre Zuverlässigkeit und ihr hervorragendes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis bekannt.

WIE WÄHLT MAN DEN LASTINDEX?
Der Tragfähigkeitsindex gibt die maximale Last an, die der Reifen aufnehmen kann. Er muss zu Ihrer Sicherheit und zur Einhaltung der Vorschriften bei einer Verkehrskontrolle, einer technischen Prüfung oder auch für die Versicherung eingehalten werden. Er muss also immer größer oder gleich dem Index der Originalreifen sein, darf aber niemals darunter liegen!
WIE WÄHLT MAN DEN GESCHWINDIGKEITSINDEX?
Der Geschwindigkeitsindex gibt die Höchstgeschwindigkeit an, bei der ein Reifen mit der angegebenen Last sicher fahren kann. Er muss zu Ihrer Sicherheit und zur Einhaltung der Vorschriften bei einer Verkehrskontrolle, einer technischen Prüfung oder auch für die Versicherung eingehalten werden. Er muss also immer größer oder gleich dem Index der Originalreifen sein, aber niemals kleiner!
UND BEI WINTERREIFEN?
Bei Schneereifen können Sie ausnahmsweise einen Reifen mit einem um eine Stufe niedrigeren Index als Ihre Sommerreifen montieren.
Bsp : Ein Auto, das einen Geschwindigkeitsindex T benötigt, kann S nehmen.
