Pirelli: Spitzenleistung seit 1872
Die Geschichte von Pirelli geht auf das Jahr 1872 zurück, als Giovanni Battista Pirelli das Unternehmen in Mailand, Italien, gründete. Zunächst stellte das Unternehmen hauptsächlich Gummikabel und -schläuche her, bevor es seine Aktivitäten auf Fahrrad- und später auch auf Autoreifen ausweitete.
Im Laufe der Jahre hat sich Pirelli dank seines Engagements für Forschung und Entwicklung zu einer festen Größe in der Reifenindustrie entwickelt. Die Marke führte in den 1970er Jahren als erste den Niederquerschnittsreifen ein und revolutionierte damit die Automobilindustrie.
