Das 1973 gegründete Unternehmen Schwalbe ist eine deutsche Marke der Ralf Bohle GmbH. Sitz der Firma ist in Köln. Der Hersteller produziert allerdings in seiner Fabrik in Indonesien. Schwalbe ist bekannt für seine Qualitätsreifen wie beispielsweise den Marathon, der seit 1983 das Aushängeschild des Konzerns in der Reifenbranche ist.
In den 90er Jahren präsentiert der Hersteller den ersten Geländereifen und wurde somit Hauptakteur im Bereich Off-Road. Heute bietet Schwalbe Reifen für den unterschiedlichen Gebrauch an: Straßen-, Mountainbike-, Radwanderungs- und Gravelreifen sowie Fahrradreifen für die Stadt. Schwalbe ist bekannt für seine widerstandsfähigen Reifen, die besonders pannensicher sind.
