Michelin wurde 1889 in Frankreich gegründet und entwickelt Reifen für alle Arten von Fahrzeugen. Im Radsport engagiert sich der Reifenhersteller seit 1891 mit dem Rennen Paris Brest Paris.
Heute sind die Räder von Julie Bresset, der Olympiasiegerin und Weltmeisterin im Querfeldein, und von Nicolas Vouilloz, dem zehnfachen Weltmeister im Downhill, mit Michelin-Reifen bereift.
Der Reifenhersteller ist für seine zahlreichen Innovationen und Hochleistungsreifen bekannt. Fahrradreifen von Michelin sind in vielen Disziplinen zu finden, vom Mountainbike über Straßen-, City- und Rennräder bis hin zu BMX- und Gravel-Bikes. Häufig gibt es pro Sportart mehrere Produktlinien mit jeweils unterschiedlichen Stärken.
